RotorBlog.com: The Freshest Way to Meet People?

Thanks for the review! You've hit on several of FlowMinlge's strong points, but I wanted to clarify a bit that we don't actually have profiles that people can look through... we wanted to steer clear of 'profiles' as they tend toward exaggeration and often end up sounding the same. What we do instead is intelligently place people in small local groups that interact online for 5 days. The group is presented daily ice-breaker questions/tasks that gradually become more personal as people feel more comfortable revealing more of who they are. The first task is to create your First Impression, which, like you said, is like Twitter feed but with more structure -- you are asked to type your current likes in music, movies, books, what you're thinking and doing, etc.

I took a listen to the jobacle.com podcast about office romance and online dating... Dr. Jackie Black commented that you really get to know people when you meet them face to face and when you find out what they are like under stress or when they are happy or sad or creative etc... This is the kind of interpersonal communication that we encourage through daily group interaction. And we have structured everything so that users can relatively quickly ramp into a face-to-face first date with more comfort.

    Cheers!
